I hope to have mine done this weekend. I cannot believe I picked "wet". *deer in headlights* And Dove sort of hinted at what she'd like to see. *winks* The pressure is on my dear!

I am thisclose to having my drabble finished, and I've had other things swoop in and demand my attention both of the last two nights!! I was hoping to have posted it a couple of days ago, but alas...getting stuck on exactly how I wanted to end it, followed by real life butting in, has caused me to postpone instead of post!!

Hopefully I can have it done and posted over the weekend. Though I've got a mega-busy schedule for those days too....keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Best,
-Lauryne

I must say, I am really loving the Cannon Fest so far. Although I am a major Ron and Hermione shipper, I have found myself really loving the stories about Lily and James (with Narcissa) and George with Angelina. I also like that a few stories or artwork are revealed everyday as it allows me to read them without being too overwhelmed.

Fantastic job Mugglemama and Dove!

I can't wait for the second posting of the day!

Thank you to Mugglemama and Dove for the fun Canon Fest. I'm especially enjoying the art I've seen posted thus far and love the whole concept of the canon fest. Great work!

I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the results in CanonFest!

I love that it is lots of R/Hr, of course, but I also appreciate that writers who may not enjoy writing those two characters are being inspired to write all the other wonderful HP characters within the canon universe. So many fests and exchanges offer more wildly AU characterisations and pairings, and honestly, that just doesn't interest me.

Just caught up with all the wonderful stories and art, and I have to thank mugglemama and everyone else who's worked so hard on this. It's been great reading good HP stories after months of withdrawal! Lol, I swear I was going spare, which is just sad, isn't it? What would I do without HP and you lot?

Especially now my other obsession's coming to a close aka LOST. Sob!

Also, can't wait for my mystery gift either!

Hugs all,

Sara

Come read and enjoy!

The first half!

I can't believe that we have so much high-quality fic and art, and are only halfway through!!!!

We have started to see some isolated negative comments on the fics, and, honestly, it seems crazy to me! Every fic is great and deserves nothing but love, so, please, come out and leave your comments of support!

Hello everyone! The HP Canon Fest has been wonderful so far (and still more to come!) I received my gift today - and just take a look at what I got! I am one lucky lady to be on the receiving end of such a masterpiece! Thank you, "mystery" gifter! love.gif I just couldn't wait to share this with all of our fellow Checkmaters! smile.gif

We're wondering if there'd be any interest in a 'pick a prompt' round of Canon Fest later this year?

Summer has LOTS of great fests, but very few canon couples appear, so we are putting out feelers for a very low-key event. Just pick a prompt, pick a pair and post kinda thing.

Any interest? If so, when would be a good time for such an event?

Don't forget-- rwhg_bigbang will be aiming for a posting date of September 1, 2010, so get those epic story ideas brewing!

Thanks for all the support!

Oooh, I'd totally be in...I even have some groovy canon plotbunnies to share if you want some for a mini-spectacular. (They are more than just one-word prompts. More like Missing Moment or post-DH "questions" that would make a good one-shot. )

I had to come and say how amazing the stores for the hp_canon_fest have been. I admit to falling behind and have been slowly trying to catch up. I'm up to the stories posted up to January 11th, but a I already fell in love with more than one fic.

honouraryweasley12, your gift fic is absolutely amazing. All three chapters are brilliant and I love that we got a peek of different point of Ron/Hermione lives.

lauryne, I also really, really, loved your gift fic. I love the whole theme of proposals and that each one was so different yet so appropriate for each cannon couple. I have to say I was partial to Ron/Hermione's section but I also really enjoyed Percy/Audrey's.

There are so many great fics, and I have found myself really enjoying stories of pairing I usually don't read. The 3 part Teddy/Victoire story was another one of my favorites.

I better go and catch up soon.

I definitely would be interested in doing something like this in the summertime since most of the fests I'm going to be working on are taking place in the springtime. smile.gif

I'd be interested, but I think it really depends on the dates and timeline... rwhg_smutfest is due April 11, and hp_art_tales is due any time before April 30. Also, if rwhg_bigbang is posting on September 1, does that mean the actual deadline will be something like August 1? If that's the case, then I don't know where the 'pick a prompt' would be slotted in.

Summer is the best time for me in terms of time. Anytime in June or July would be great. As for the rwhg_bigbang, I just can't as I have too many stories going at once right now. *sighs*
