Forever Alive, by Mordred, again at ff.net. It's an absolutely beautifully written piece about the Marauders, taking them from their first day at Hogwarts all the way up to the deaths of Lily and James. Be warned - it's insanely long! It's up to 104 chapters now, and they're not short chapters. What amazes me is that the author has written it all since the release of OotP. Forever Alive

I'm surprised The Animal Chronicles isn't up there. I don't know how I'd go about linking that, as its 5 parts. Theyre by Archchancellor and theyre lovely. I was just re-reading them. They tickle me pink and make me smile.

I found a fabulous fic. Oh, it's so good. Over in the recesses of Fanfiction.Net, I managed to dig up Boy Talk. It's a little fic concerning conversation between Neville and Harry. One shot, no slash, just some good, slightly dirty fun.
-------------------- Credits. I have to agree with everyone who has noted that Kent and Vixen's dramatic head-turn is so spectacular that it basically ruins the head-turn forever. The head-turn will have to be retired. Like Brett Favre's number. And helmet. And shoes. And towel. [BOMP.] Miss Alli, TWOP

Dagnabbit, I've been avoiding registering for this forum because I knew once I did I'd never get anything done. ::sigh::
Ah well, thanks, MissBrooke06, for the rec, and also for the review you posted to FF.Net (I would've thanked you personally, but couldn't find an e-mail address). There's a slightly more cleaned-up (in terms of my writing, not the subject matter) of "Boy Talk" over on the Astronomy Tower as well, and I'll probably get around to posting it here before too long. MM, if you want, just PM me the link (or edit your post) and I'll fix it on the main list.
Rec for this post: Curled Up Deep by Elektra is a really sweet, short, fluffy one-shot. I read it ages ago and stumbled across it again yesterday. I like her style. ETA Boy Talk has been listed on the Smutty Fic Recs because it has sexually suggestive content. Anytime I see that 'Are you over 17?' message pop up, I get nervous. I'm not trying to be a weird control freak, but I'd kind of rather keep fics centered on sexual content off the main list. I don't know that any rules are being broken, and I certainly can't (and wouldn't want to) try to keep anyone from recommending anything as long as it's not graphic. Last edit lol. It's the middle of the night, and I have a bad case of insomnia. So I thought I'd browse the first 5 or so pages of the Library and the Bedchamber, just to see which stories archived at CM have gotten the most number of reviews to date. So I compiled this bit of trivia for you to enjoy...
Top 5 fics (in terms of reviews) archived at CM are listed in the following categories: 1. Novel-length fics (16 chapters and above, either completed or WIP) 2. Mid-length (6 to 15 chapters, completed works or WIP that might possibly end with 15 chapters) 3. Two to five-parters (completed works) 4. One-shots Note: a similar list of NC-17 rated fics will be posted in the Restricted Section's "Smutty Fic Recs" topic (you need separate access to the RS forum). Without further ado... here's the cream of the crop here at CM. (All stats are as of posting time) Novel-length fics: 1. The Price of Love by RogueSugah - viewed 48027 times, with 450 reviews (WIP, 25 chapters and counting) 2. From Answers to Questions by Velvethope - viewed 23031 times, with 250 reviews (WIP, 23 chapters and counting) 3. Home Alone by KEDme - viewed 27038 times, with 224 reviews (WIP, 24 chapters and counting) 4. Weight of the World by Slayerette - viewed 27088 times, with 195 reviews (WIP, 30 chapters and counting) 5. Always the Sidekick by Destyne - viewed 15759 times, with 133 reviews (Completed fic, 22 chapters) Mid-length fics: 1. Lotharius by Jane - viewed 7701 times, with 456 reviews (Completed fic, 11 chapters) 2. La Vie en Rose by elais - viewed 12608 times, with 237 reviews (WIP, 10 chapters and counting) Note: subject to relocation to the "novel-length" fic list if it passes 15 chapters and depending on the number of reviews 3. Blood on the Moon by Portkey - viewed 7874 times, with 232 reviews (WIP, 12 chapters and counting) Same note as Number 2 4. Resurrection by Portkey - viewed 8031 times, with 216 reviews (WIP, 13 chapters and counting) Same note as Number 2 5. Conversations with Dr. Hammond by Jane - viewed 4122 times, with 171 reviews (Completed fic, 10 chapters) Two to five parters: 1. Long Night by Jane - viewed 5029 times, with 134 reviews (Completed fic, 3 chapters) 2. I Suck at Titles by Jane - viewed 1358 times, with 113 reviews (Completed fic, 2 chapters) 3. Discoveries by steviep - viewed 5872 times, with 90 reviews (4 chapters - seems to be a complete fic, but the author has not indicated if it's completed) 4. For You by BlueDaisy62 - viewed 4090 times, with 69 reviews (Completed fic, 3 chapters) 5. Feeling the Same Way by ThePowerOfSlugs - viewed 2001 times, with 61 reviews (Completed fic, 2 chapters) One-shots: 1. Window by Jane - viewed 893 times, with 69 reviews 2. Bubbles by freelancer - viewed 841 times, with 63 reviews (Note: Winner [second place], Wet Weasley challenge, issued July 2003) 3. Birthdays by Jane - viewed 2203 times, with 57 reviews 4. One Way or Another by Allison - viewed 1169 times, with 55 reviews 5. Mistletoe by sunshyndaisies - viewed 521 times, with 51 reviews This list is as of post date (and time). If there are any changes since, please feel free to make an updated list. This is hard work, I'm telling you, quite possibly because I'm tired out of my skull, but I still can't sleep! Enjoy! P.S. Oops, just looked at the clock, and it's time for me to wake up! I can't believe I haven't gotten any sleep at all... Harry Potter and the Old Alliance by Aragorn Elessar. I mix a bit of LOTR material into it. It's not for those who are fluff fans. This is why my friends call me a mass murderer, but I am proud of how I did it. You decide if the ending's happy or not.

There's more to write, but I wasn't sure how exactly I wanted to go about it. Anyway, I've decided to end "Discoveries" here and move on to a sequel once I've gotten all this RL stuff out of the way.... -------------------- --Sarah

Since MissBrooke06 was so kind to recommend one of my stories, I'd like to return the compliment by recommending Eurydice's Charlie Weasley stories, over on the Sugar Quill. I know some people don't care for OCs, but I hope you can overcome it enough to read these stories, because they're well worth the time. They're among the very few I bother to save and print on paper, so I can enjoy them properly.
In order, they are: The Expert Return What to Do, What to Say Future Uncertain (this last one is a WIP) They start during the first task in GoF, then the storyline gradually moves back to Romania and the dragon preserve. The canon characters are few, but the OCs are superbly drawn and three-dimensional (even the dragons Go, go! Read, read! Agi Vega recommended this to me and I thought I'd list it here. It's a WIP.
the other black girl It's about how the three Black sisters (Narcissa-Andromeda-Bellatrix) grew up,what was the relationship between them, their relationship with the other Slytherins, and best of all... with Sirius. The story deals with their behaviour, their characteristics, their friends, their plans, their romances etc. It's from Andromeda's POV. I personally loved all the characterizations and found the plot extremely interesting! -------------------- ![]() |

One really lovely story that's recently been posted is CharityJ's A Life Well Spent.
It's a short one shot that's very well written, and made me sniffle a bit. But, then again, I'm an emotional sap, so I cry at the slightest provocation. -------------------- "Next Monday," he said as he scribbled, "I am likely to develop a cough, owing to the unlucky conjunction of Mars and Jupiter."
