I LOVE this picture.
Your Ron is definitely Rupert-ish, which is a good thing, but I like, too, that he's not big and buff, that he's more lean. The only thing I can complain about is that I can hardly see those freckles--I know they're there (I read the comments at the LJ page) but they don't show up at that resolution. Oh, yeah, and kudos to Ron's hands. They're big and, erm, nicely placed. Guh...can I have him, please? Hermione is a lucky witch. I like that you made her hair look actually bushy; the way her lower lip is tugged down by Ron's nose--hee!--and her expression is just lovely. The best part of the picture, though, is the way it seems to be a moment frozen in time--there is a sense of movement in the picture that makes the scene very immediate, which is probably partly why it's so sexy. -------------------- Avatar hosted by lina

I couldn't find an open topic to share Leela's art on the Gallery thread so I opened this one up.
You guys have to see this very fun, cute picture Leela drew for an Anigmanus Challenge at LJ. Pig is adorable! Pig Loves Harry I think she did a wonderful job! This post has been edited by Pili204: Jan 15 2006, 08:06 PM -------------------- My Checkmated Stories *** My LJ *** My Fic Journal

Pili204 is right! That is a wonderful piece of art. I love the expressions on the owls.
For other poeple who might not be familiar with Leela's extensive collection of HP art, here are a few more of her brilliant pieces to enjoy: The Boy Who Lived It's a Girl and two of her pieces, with HP characters as Celtic Heroes: Celtic Heroes: Ron & Hermione Celtic Heroes: Harry & Ginny A number of us have commissioned art from Leela - and the pieces are absolutely amazing in their detail, intensity, and colors! Wow. I've never actually viewed Leelas art before (at least I don't think that I have) But I really have to just say... "wow"
I especially loved "It's a girl", a nice Weasley family moment. How can you get her to commission a piece? and what are rates? -------------------- "Well, think back... Have you ever let it slip that you'd like to go out in public with the words 'my sweetheart' round your neck?"

Generally if you email her your idea, she'll give you some idea of time frames, expense - and then she engages in an important dialogue about deatils of what you want. She always emails you sketches along the way, so you can see how your art is progressing and give input. : ) She is wonderful to work with. I am currently commissioning a series of R/Hr wedding and honeymoon pieces. You can see the sketch of the wedding piece here: "Something Borrowed" - sketch This will give you some idea of the steps along the way to the final art! -------------------- |

Oh, I have another Leela drawing to share. This is an original I commissioned from her. It's hanging near my desk. This drawing is depicting one of my favorite scenes from belovedranger's story, Quiet Easily Undone
In this scene Ron has just asked Hermione to marry him and they're standing outside The Nook, a home he has just bought for them Close To Home. As far as her rates it depends on what you want on the drawing: the number of characters, the background, whether it's colored and renderend. You can find all that information in her website. I too have to add my thanks for adding these drawings... I hadn't seen her work before, and it ranks right up there with Marta's stuff. I love the details she adds in. I think my favorite is It's a Girl, but the others are all really wonderful too. Birth of Venus is pretty great too. Teehee!

I've been addicted to Leela's art for years now. Still haven't found any HP artist who can top her. She's in a league of her own!
